Can you recommend any nice and cheap hotels to stay in Split in Croatia?
And if you can suggest any decent stuff to do there that would be fantastic. Thanks!
I stayed in the Hotel Marjan in 2001, it was a decent hotel in a good location. Nothing fancy but reasonable value.

The main attraction in Split is Diocletian's Palace. It's amazing - this Roman emperor's palace is now the centre of Split which has grown up around it. Over the years, people have built houses into the walls of the palace so that now it's this extraordinary mixture of monument and streets. It has to be seen.
Apart from that, Split is on the coast so boat trips on the Adriatic are another popular option. Some trips include island stop offs on one of the many small islands off coast.
When I was there, there was a lot of live music in the town centre on summer evenings, lots of street stalls, etc although that may vary depending on what time of year you visit.
Inland from Split there are some pretty rural towns with old churches, etc. and attractive rural landscapes.
People in Croatia are very welcoming of Western visitors as they see this as affirming their place in Europe.
