The band is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and the band members consist of: Justin Sane, Chris Head, Chris #2 and Pat Thetic. They first formed in 1988, but most of their well known work comes later especially when they released the popular album, “A New Kind of Army” in 1999. The album itself addressed a wide variety of topics such as political corruption, racism, police brutality and unity within the American youth. In the year 2000 Anti-Flag was invited to participate in the Vans Warped Tour and they changed their album label several times.
They have gone on to release other albums over the years that have contributed some of which have been outwardly critical of the Bush Administration’s policies in Iraq and elsewhere in the world. One of the most well known of these albums is entitled “War on Terrorism.” They have been both criticized and praised for their attempts on exposing the wrongdoings of the American government and continue on today to produce great music and encourage young people to get involved in issues that truly matter in their nation and in the world.
The band officially hit the road right after Thanksgiving last year and is continuing around the world in efforts to spread the sounds of their music and the sincerity of their words. They are a punk band that has made quite a name for themselves over the years and you would surely be missing out if you did not attend one of their upcoming concerts.
