SCARED!!! help with soccer!?
ok so heres the deal, i play soccer on a competetive team and i am one of the best players, well i used to be anyways. the new season started and even tho i kicked a$$ in futsal (indoor soccer) i just had this fear about "what if i lost my talent during the off season" (ok im not trying to sound cocky or something) but then i just finished playing my second game of the season and for both games i didnt have a very good game. I mean i wasnt terrible but i was mediocre and now i keep messing up because i cant stop thinking "what if i lost all of my talent during the off-season" and now i actually am messing up just cuz i keep thinking about it! HELP! how do i stop thinking so negatively?? how do i get back in the zone?? extra practice?? (but heres the thing i have a life and although i love soccer in dont want my social life to be taken up by it) THANKS!!
Refocus your thoughts on why you love to play...your teammates, the competitiveness, all the running, etc. Like you train your body you need to train your mind to think about other things..especially on the game when you are playing. Eventually you'll forget about worrying and you'll play as you naturally do. Keep playing and you'll get past this.
