London, England - My Visit to Kensington Palace
During my time in London, I was fortunate enough to run into some fellow travelers from Canada. I truly was lost as I did not know what attraction to visit first. As a Canadian, I grew up not truly understanding the importance of Royalty and Royal family. So I met this one person who recommend I go take a look at Kensington Palace. So I went and took a look.
Kensington Palace is located in London, England in the UK. It is a royal residence and home to British Royal Family since the seventeenth century. Located in Kensington Gardens also within the confines of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, Kensington Palace is where the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester live. The Duke and Duchess of Kent and Prince and Princess of Kent also live there. Other famous inhabitants include Prince Harry, his cousin Zara Phillips and the late Princess Diana. During my visit to the Palace, I was able to observe the Diana, Princess of Wales exhibition that was situated at Kensington Palace. It was a very powerful exhibition and acts as a memorial to help us remember the beauty and accomplishments of the life of Princess Diana. Currently there is a tour open to the public. It is of "Apartment 1A". Apartment 1A belonged to the late Princess Margaret. The tour was definitely worth it as it takes a step back in time and attempts to show the history of Apartment 1A. I have to say that Kensington Palace is a worthwhile attraction if you are ever in the London, England area. Also for all you royalty buffs, be sure to take lots and lot of photos as the Palace is definitely nothing ordinary.
